Auntie Etta’s Atelier

Your next chapter, made by hand.

We collaborate with you to develop one-of-a-kind garments—from the first inspiration through fabric, silhouette, and finishing details.

We review inquiries for creative fit, timing, and budget, and invite suitable projects to consultation.

Tell Us About Your Commission

A conversation first. Not an order form.

  • Custom fantasy garments
  • Cloaks, gowns, robes, and one-of-a-kind commissions
  • Philadelphia · In-person fittings by appointment, within about 85 miles, at Henrietta’s discretion

The work

What we create

A commission can be a single cloak or a complete character. If it can be cut, fitted, and finished by hand, we will consider it.

  1. 01

    Full character looks

A complete wardrobe for a person you are bringing into the world.

  2. 02

    Cloaks & capes

Weight, drape, lining, and the way it moves when you turn.

  3. 03

    Gowns & dresses

Silhouette first, then fabric, then the details only visible up close.

  4. 04

    Robes & layered garments

Pieces meant to be worn together, in an order we decide with you.

  5. 05

    Alterations & upgrades

An existing garment given a better fit, stronger construction, or a finer finish.

  6. 06

    Something entirely your own

If it does not fit a category, describe it. That is often where the work begins.

The process

How a commission begins

This is an application, not a checkout. We protect the time the work actually takes.

  1. 01

    Share your idea

Tell us what you are imagining. Sketches and references are welcome, not required.

  2. 02

    We review the inquiry

Creative fit, timing, and budget. Not every project is one we can take.

  3. 03

Suitable projects are invited to consultation

We talk through the garment before anything is promised.

  4. 04

Design, fabric, and fit are developed together

In person only when Henrietta decides a fitting is right for the commission. Otherwise, through conversation and references.

  5. 05

Auntie Etta brings the garment to life

Construction, finishing, and the last decisions that happen at the table.

The invitation

Tell us about your commission

Tell us what you’re imagining. We review every inquiry for creative fit, timing, and current availability.

Do you live within about 85 miles of Philadelphia? *

In-person fittings are limited to that radius, and only when Henrietta decides the commission calls for one. This answer records distance. It does not book a fitting. Commissions from farther away are still welcome.

A few practical answers

What kinds of garments do you make?

Cloaks, gowns, robes, layered looks, and full character wardrobes. We also alter and upgrade garments that already exist. If the piece is specific to you, it belongs in an inquiry.

Can I submit sketches or inspiration images?

Yes. Screenshots, character art, fabric ideas, and rough sketches all help us understand the garment. They are optional, and they stay private.

Do you offer alterations?

We do, when the garment and the timeline are a fit. Tell us what you already have and what you want it to become. Alterations are reviewed the same way as new commissions.

Do you work from an idea, or do I need reference images?

Either is welcome. A clear description is enough to begin. References make the conversation faster, but an unfinished idea is a perfectly good place to start.

Are fittings in person?

Sometimes. In-person fittings are only available to clients who live within about 85 miles of Philadelphia, and only when Henrietta decides the commission calls for one. Living nearby does not reserve a fitting. Living farther away does not rule out a commission. Submitting this form does not book an appointment.

How does a commission begin?

You share the idea. We review it for creative fit, timing, and budget. If it is a project we can take, we invite you to a consultation. A quote and an accepted commission come after that conversation, not before.
